PHOTOS: Protesters Converge On Lagos And Abuja To Decry Economic Woes

Protests against the current economic challenges in the country have commenced in Lagos and the federal capital territory (FCT).

Gatekeepers News reports that demonstrators gathered at the Ikeja under bridge area of Lagos for the ‘National Day of Survival’ protest, which was spearheaded by Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2023 election.

The protest is being coordinated by several civil society organisations (CSOs) under the banner of the #EndBadGovernance movement. The organisers have stated that the march aims to address concerns related to the increase in fuel prices, escalating food expenses, and the impact of inflation on the daily lives of ordinary Nigerians.

This demonstration coincides with Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day anniversary and serves as a follow-up to the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protest in August, which resulted in violence in certain northern states.
