Nigerian Army has made arrangements for the burial rites of the late Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, who passed away at the age of 56 following an undisclosed illness.
Gatekeepers News reports that President Bola Tinubu appointed Lagbaja as COAS on June 19, 2023, and has ordered a state burial in his honor.
The schedule for the memorial events includes a service of songs taking place on Thursday from 5 PM to 7 PM at the army headquarters’ garrison parade ground located in Mogadishu Cantonment, Abuja.
Following this, a funeral service will be held on Friday from 10 AM to 12:45 PM at the National Christian Centre in the Central Business District (CBD) of Abuja.
The final interment will take place at the National Military Cemetery on Friday between 2 PM and 6 PM.
