Robert Cory Bryar aka Bob Bryar, American musician, sound engineer, and former drummer for iconic rock band, ‘My Chemical Romance’ has passed away.
Gatekeepers News reports that the drummer died at the age of 44 at his Tennessee home, according to US media.
Bryar was the longest-serving drummer for the group. He played with the band from 2004 to 2010.
A spokesman for the band said to US outlets, ” The band asks for your patience and understanding as they process the news of Bob’s passing.”
Bryar was born in Chicago, Illinois, and studied sound engineering at the University of Florida.
He joined the band in 2004, replacing former drummer Matt Pelissier, and helped write songs for the acclaimed record ‘The Black Parade’, and “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.”
Bryar suffered third-degree burns in an accident whilst on the set of a music video in 2006, which led to infection.
He continued to tour with the band they recorded their fourth studio album before he departed from MCR in 2010.
The drummer officially retired from the music industry in 2021 and auctioned off some of his band memorabilia in aid of various animal charities.
