Abure Still Our Chairman— LP Reacts To S’Court Verdict

Labour Party (LP) has affirmed that Julius Abure remains its national chairman.

Gatekeepers News reports that the party said the Supreme Court’s ruling earlier on Friday, validates his leadership of LP.

Obiora Ifoh, LP’s National Publicity Secretary, made the statement in a post on X while reacting to the apex court’s verdict.

Recall that the supreme court nullified the judgment recognising Abure as national chairman of LP.

The Court said leadership matters within political parties fall under internal affairs and are beyond the jurisdiction of the courts.

Ifoh wrote, “Supreme Court strikes out Nenadi, Abure suits, says only Political Parties can determine who their leaders are.”

“It also said that the courts shouldn’t dabble into the affairs of the political parties. Abure is still the National Chairman of the Labour Party.”
