Operatives from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have apprehended Aisha Sulaiman Achimugu, a prominent business executive and socialite.
Gatekeepers News reports that her legal team announced the arrest in a statement on Tuesday, noting that Achimugu returned to the country voluntarily from London and was taken into custody around 5 a.m. the same day.
According to her lawyer, Achimugu had previously informed the Federal High Court in Abuja of her intention to visit the EFCC as part of an ongoing investigation concerning allegations of criminal conspiracy and money laundering.
As a result, Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court has ordered Achimugu to appear before the EFCC on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, to address the charges.
The court has also mandated her presence on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, for the continuation of the proceedings related to the matter.
