Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan has on Saturday described the conduct of the Local Government Council election as peaceful and credible.
Gatekeepers News reports that Senator Lawan, representing Borno Central, commended the Borno State Independent Electoral Commission (BOSIEC) for conducting a well-organized election and praised the massive voter turnout across the 8 Local Government Areas in his senatorial district
Senator Lawan made this statement shortly after casting his vote at his Lawan Asheik Alhaji Sadiq polling unit, Shehuri South Ward, Maiduguri, Borno State capital.
“I must commend the State Independent Electoral Commission for conducting a well-organized election, and the security agencies for ensuring security, peace and order at all the polling units across my senatorial district.
“I’m also impressed with the voter turnout, in spite of the hard times, which shows that the electorate are committed to genuine democratic governance in Borno State and Nigeria,” Adding that “for me, the election is credible.” Senator Lawan said.
In the same vain , the House of Representatives member representing Maiduguri Metropolitan Council, Abdulkadir Rahis, also commended the peaceful conduct of the LG Polls.

“Apart from its credibility, what impressed me most about the election is its rancour-freeness and the peaceful atmosphere which prevailed across my constituency.” Hon Rahis said shortly after casting his ballot at his Wakil Hassan polling unit, Gwange 1, Maiduguri, the state capital.
