All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended its ongoing electronic membership registration exercise to February 8, 2026.

Gatekeepers News reports that the move is aimed at giving more supporters and party members time to sign up and validate their details before internal party elections.

The extension was announced on Friday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, after the 183rd meeting of the APC National Working Committee (NWC) held at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

Originally slated to end on January 31, the registration period has now been lengthened to allow the APC to boost its membership ahead of a packed timetable of congresses and the national convention later this year.

Reports say the party is targeting to register more than 12.5 million members nationwide as it prepares for the selection of leaders at the ward, local government, state, and national levels.

Under the revised schedule approved by the NWC, ward congresses across the federation will now take place on February 18, 2026, with the APC’s national convention moved to March 27 and March 28, 2026.

Morka explained that Osun State, Ekiti State, and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are not included in the upcoming congresses because of impending governorship and council elections in those areas, while Rivers State is excluded due to the current tenure of its party executives elected at an off‑cycle congress last year.

The party has also constituted a National Convention Planning Committee to oversee preparations for the convention, and further details on the full schedule of activities and the committee’s membership are expected to be released soon.
