2027 : Satumari Returns To Reps Race With Focus On Accountability

Dr. Abdulaziz Samaila Satumari has confirmed his bid for the Hawul/Askira-Uba Federal Constituency, promising a tenure defined by the same auditing rigour that has defined his 26-year professional career.

Gatekeepers Newreports that this is not the first time the Borno-born financial expert and business man is venturing into mainstream politics. In the last election, he yielded his APC primary lead to a party-preferred candidate.

“Though that move proved costly, as the candidate’s loss at the general polls ended the APC’s long-standing hold on the seat, Satumari remained loyal and committed to the ideals of the party,” said Idris Yau, one of the youth supporters routing for his candidacy.

Satumari, a PhD holder in Accounting, is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered System Accountants (USA) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.

His candidacy is being watched closely by transparency advocates, given his extensive research into the “Role of an Internal Auditor in the Detection and Prevention of Fraud.”

“The National Assembly is the gatekeeper of our national wealth,”
Satumari said

“My goal is to use my skills in public sector accounting and systems management to ensure that constituency funds are not just allocated, but accounted for.”

His CV is a roadmap of excellence: a B.Sc. in Accounting from the University of Abuja, an MBA from ABU Zaria, and international training from the World Congress of Accountants across three continents.

Professionally, he is a member of ICAN and an associate of the Economics Institute Consulting Economic Academy.
Satumari, who served as the Assistant Secretary for the APC Presidential Campaign Council (North East), is seen as a bridge between the party’s administrative goals and the public’s demand for transparency.

His “result-oriented” approach is expected to be the centerpiece of his 2027 campaign.

“We believe he is the right man for the job as far as the contest for the APC ticket is concerned and the general election as well,” Mr Yau said.

“As a private person, Satumari has done so much for our people at the grassroots that’s why we are backing his return to the race. We have lost count on the number of young people of he has supported with scholarship in our Emirates. His community development projects in Askira Uba are still very evident,” Yau added
