Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has formally submitted his presidential nomination form at the headquarters of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja ahead of the 2027 general election.
Gatekeepers News reports that the post shared on his X page on Thursday, Atiku described the move as a major step in what he called a national mission to restore hope and prosperity in the country. He said, “it’s time to save Nigeria,” while urging Nigerians across different regions and backgrounds to support the movement.
The former presidential candidate said the journey was “more than a political movement,” adding that it is focused on renewal and rebuilding the country. Photos and videos released online showed him submitting the forms at the ADC national secretariat.
The development comes days after reports emerged that Atiku had paid N90 million for the ADC presidential nomination form. The party had earlier confirmed receiving the payment and scheduled the formal submission process in Abuja.
Atiku, who previously contested the presidency multiple times under different political platforms, ran as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 election before aligning with the ADC ahead of the next election cycle.
