All Progressives Congress (APC) has released an updated list of senatorial aspirants barred from participating in its primary elections, removing former Bayelsa East senator Ben Murray-Bruce from the affected candidates.
Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement issued on Monday by Felix Morka, APC national publicity secretary, the party said the revised list was part of efforts to ensure transparency and orderliness during the ongoing primary election process.
The ruling party had initially disqualified 47 aspirants from contesting in the senate primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections, but the updated document now contains 44 names after adjustments were made.
Among those still affected by the screening outcome are Benson Agadaga, senator representing Bayelsa East; Banigo Ipalibo, senator representing Rivers West; and former FCT senator Usman Wowo. Garba Mai Doki of Kebbi South was also listed after reportedly defecting from the APC.
The party further stated that Adam Mohammed from Jigawa South-West failed to appear for screening, while Abdulkarim Kana (SAN) and Donald Daunemigita from Bayelsa West voluntarily withdrew from the race.
Other notable names on the revised list include Tamunobaabo Danagogo, Tein Jack-Rich, and Oyukaye Amachree from Rivers West senatorial district.
The affected aspirants cut across several states including Adamawa, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Rivers, Kebbi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Oyo, Taraba, Yobe, and Zamfara.
