Morocco strengthened their chances of reaching the knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after defeating Scotland 1-0 in a crucial Group C clash, while Brazil recorded a convincing 3-0 victory over Haiti.
Gatekeepers News reports that Morocco got off to a dream start when Ismael Saibari scored just 70 seconds into the match, handing the North Africans an early lead that ultimately proved decisive. Scotland pushed for an equaliser but were unable to break through as Morocco held on for all three points.
The victory moved Morocco to four points from two matches and boosted their hopes of advancing to the next round, while Scotland remained on three points following their opening win over Haiti.
In the group’s other fixture, Brazil returned to winning ways with a dominant performance against Haiti. Matheus Cunha scored twice in the first half, while Vinicius Junior added another goal as the South Americans secured a comfortable win.
The result handed Brazil their first victory of the tournament after opening with a 1-1 draw against Morocco and moved them to the top of Group C on goal difference. Haiti, meanwhile, were eliminated after suffering a second consecutive defeat.
With one round of matches remaining, Brazil and Morocco are well placed to qualify for the knockout stage, while Scotland still have a chance of progressing. Haiti sit bottom of the group without a point.
The final Group C fixtures will see Brazil face Scotland, while Morocco take on Haiti in matches that will determine the group’s qualification places.
