Borno Stare Governor Prof Babagana Zulum on Tuesday announce a cash support of ₦50,000 each to about 200 serving members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) deployed to Biu Local Government Area of the state .
Gatekeepers News reports that Governor Zulum , in his usual proactive manner during working visits to various Local Government Areas, stated that his administration will continue to encourage and empower Nigerian youths. He emphasized that investing in youth development, remains a strategic priority for rebuilding livelihoods and promoting sustainable economic recovery across Borno State.
Zulum annouce the donation when corps menbers converge to welcome him in front of the Emir of Biu Palace , His Royal Highness, Mai Umar Mustapha Aliyu, in Biu town, Biu Local Government Area.
The financial support according to the governor , is part of his administration’s ongoing commitment to improve the welfare of corps members and encourage them to contribute effectively to the development of local communities where they are deployed to serve .
The governor who took ample time to interact with the corps members drawn from different parts of the country assured them that Borno remain home to all Nigerians, noting that the state government will continue to support them as they serve their fatherland .
” I hearby announce the sum of N50, 000 to all corps member present here today and
I have also directed that the money be credited to your accounts today,” Zulum said.
The governor also announced a cash gift of N200,000 each to two nursing mothers serving as corps members. In the same vein, the NYSC officials were not left out, as they also benefited from the governor’s generosity.
The corps members, who were all smiles, commended Governor Zulum for his continued support to their members across the state. They pledged to contribute their quota to the development of Borno State through dedicated service and community-oriented initiatives.
