FG Unveils ‘Fly Now And Pay Later’ Scheme To Boost Domestic Air Travel

The Federal Government has introduced a “fly now, pay later” initiative designed to make domestic air travel more accessible to Nigerians through consumer credit.

Gatekeepers Newreports that in a post on X on Tuesday, the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CrediCorp) said the scheme allows eligible passengers to book local flights and repay the cost over time through structured financing.

According to the corporation, the initiative is aimed at easing the burden of upfront payments, which often delay travel plans.

“This solution is delivered in partnership with MyVisaro and Alert Microfinance Bank,” CrediCorp said.

“At CREDICORP, we remain committed to expanding responsible consumer credit and enabling Nigerians live better now, including flying locally.

“To apply, eligible individuals are to visit visaro.ng and book a flight to any city in Nigeria today.”

Flexible Payment Structure

Findings show that qualified applicants are required to make a 30 percent initial deposit, while the remaining balance is spread across three monthly instalments.

The scheme is expected to ease financial pressure on travellers amid rising domestic airfares.

Part of Broader Credit Expansion

The initiative is one of several programmes introduced by CrediCorp to deepen financial inclusion across sectors.

In December 2024, the agency partnered with the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) to launch a N20 billion consumer credit fund to support the purchase of locally assembled vehicles.

Other offerings include the YouthCred programme, which provides employed Nigerians aged 18 to 39 access to up to N5 million in credit.

In September 2025, CrediCorp also rolled out a pension-backed loan scheme for retirees in partnership with Leadway Trustees and Optimus Bank.
