Tinubu Assures Nigerians Of Power Reforms – Says Nation Will Overcome Electricity Challenges

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed confidence that Nigeria will overcome its electricity challenges, describing the country as resilient despite ongoing economic difficulties.

Gatekeepers News reports that speaking after special prayers held to mark his birthday at the National Mosque in Abuja, the president acknowledged the current hardships facing the nation, including power supply issues, inflation, and rising transportation costs.

Tinubu attributed some of the country’s challenges to external factors, particularly the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, which he said has impacted the global economy.

“We are going through a very difficult period which is not our own making, as a result of the war in Middle East,” he said.

He, however, urged Nigerians to remain hopeful, stressing that the country has the capacity to overcome its challenges.

“We are challenged; there is that of electricity, there’s a problem of transportation hike, there’s a problem of expected inflation… But we will overcome it. We are a resilient nation. We will overcome,” Tinubu stated.

The president also called on citizens to reflect and recommit themselves to national development and progress, noting that the period calls for unity and renewed dedication.

“It is time to reflect, to give thanks to God Almighty, as well as rededicate ourselves to the progress, development and prosperity of this country,” he added.

Tinubu further appreciated Nigerians for the goodwill messages and prayers he received on his birthday, describing them as overwhelming and encouraging.

His remarks come amid growing concerns over electricity supply and broader economic pressures across the country, with the government maintaining that reforms are underway to improve the power sector.
