The private screening of the movie On Different Grounds drew several dignitaries and celebrities to the Civic Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, with the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, and actress Kate Henshaw among the notable guests.
Gatekeepers News reports that the event, held ahead of the film’s official release, also had veteran actors Ini Edo and Bob Manuel Udokwu, former minister Frank Nweke Jr., producer Ope Ajayi, and media entrepreneur Seun Oloketuyi in attendance.
The movie was directed by Mildred Okwo and produced by HB&Q Impressions Studios in collaboration with Serengeti Network.
On Different Grounds tells the story of a divorced couple reunited unexpectedly after their daughter sets events in motion during her wedding celebration. The film explores themes of unity, identity, peace, and cultural diversity across Nigeria.
Speaking at the screening, the Olu of Warri praised the Nigerian creative industry for promoting culture and empowering young people.
He said storytelling remains a powerful tool for projecting Nigeria’s identity and values globally while encouraging support for initiatives that foster peace and national development through entertainment.
