Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have recorded another breakthrough in the fight against insurgency in the North-East after overrunning terrorist strongholds and dismantling a logistics base in the Sambisa Forest area of Borno State.
Gatekeepers News reports that according to military sources, the operation targeted terrorist enclaves used for coordinating attacks, storing supplies and providing shelter for insurgents operating within the Sambisa axis.
During the offensive, troops destroyed logistics structures, hideouts and other facilities used by the terrorists to sustain their operations.
The operation was part of ongoing coordinated air and ground offensives aimed at disrupting terrorist activities, weakening their supply networks and restricting their movement across the North-East. Security sources said the assault followed intelligence reports that identified active terrorist positions within the forest.
Sambisa Forest has remained one of the major operational bases for Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters, making it a key focus of military operations in Borno State.
In recent months, troops have intensified clearance operations in the area, leading to the destruction of several camps, equipment and logistics facilities linked to insurgent groups.
Military authorities said the latest offensive further demonstrates ongoing efforts to deny terrorists safe havens and restore security across communities affected by insurgency in the region.
