Billionaire businessman and Chairman of First HoldCo Plc, Femi Otedola, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms after meeting with him in Paris, France.
Gatekeepers News reports that Otedola disclosed the meeting in a post on X on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, saying he met with Tinubu on Monday evening.
He described the president’s reforms as “bold and forward-thinking” and said they had placed Nigeria’s economy on what he described as a sustainable growth path.
Otedola cited developments including the inclusion of Nigerian companies in the FTSE Russell Frontier 50 Index, gains in the Nigerian Exchange, increased foreign direct investment and improved investor confidence.
He also pointed to increased stability in the foreign exchange market and foreign reserves of about $55 billion.
“At a private dinner in Paris yesterday evening with His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose bold and forward-thinking reforms have put our economy firmly on a path of sustainable growth.”
Otedola added that the results of the reforms were becoming increasingly evident.
He concluded his message by saying: “I remain proud of you, Mr. President!”
The meeting came as Tinubu concluded his extended working vacation in Europe. The president had left Nigeria on August 30 and visited London and Paris during the trip.
Tinubu has since returned to Nigeria through Lagos ahead of the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary on October 1.
