African Action Congress (AAC) has requested President Bola Tinubu’s approval to inaugurate its presidential campaign council at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on November 11, 2026.
Gatekeepers News reports that the party also sought food, drinks and logistical assistance for 5,000 participants expected from Nigeria and overseas.
The requests were contained in an October 21 letter signed by AAC National Secretary Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena, ahead of the 2027 presidential election, in which the party is fielding Omoyele Sowore.
AAC argued that opposition parties should enjoy comparable access to public facilities, citing arrangements it said were reportedly extended to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The party maintained that approving the application would demonstrate fairness and political inclusion.
In its letter, AAC said “public institutions must serve all Nigerians without partisan discrimination”.
