Lagos Leads As Nigeria Records 1149 COVID-19 Cases 
Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria led the daily infection chart as Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 1149 new cases.

Gatekeepers News reports that the NCDC, in its daily update on the Coronavirus outbreak, disclosed that 297 COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged from various isolation centres in the country, while seven persons died of complications

A State-by-State breakdown of the fresh infections which were reported in 16 States, is as follows; Lagos (680), Rivers (157), Akwa Ibom (94), Oyo (56), Edo (36), FCT (34), Ogun (31), Ekiti (20), Delta (16), Abia (5), Nasarawa (5), Osun (5), Cross River (4), Plateau (3), Sokoto (2) and Kano (1).

“Today’s report includes Confirmed cases for Lagos State: 393 cases on 17th and 287 cases on 18th August, 2021. 0 cases from Ondo State,” NCDC noted.

Gatekeepers News reports that as of August 19, 2021, Nigeria has confirmed a total of 184,593 cases which include 167,738 recoveries and 2,236 deaths across the federation.
