A bridge linking Nigeria and Cameroon has been inaugurated at the border in Mfum/Ekok, Cross River state, Southern Nigeria.
Gatekeepers News reports that the new joint bridge was inaugurated on Thursday.
The inauguration event was attended by Nigeria’s Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola; Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Zubairu Dada who represented President Muhammadu Buhari; and Cameroon’s Minister of Public Works, Emmanuel Djoumessi who represented President Paul Biya.
Construction of the bridge began in 2017 and was completed in 2021.
The bridge is part of efforts to boost trade between both countries.
