EPL Round-Up: Arsenal Extends Lead With 8 Points Clear

Arsenal have defeated Tottenham 2-0 to stay 8-point clear of closest rival, Manchester City in the 2022/2023 Premier League campaign.

Gatekeepers News reports that Arteta’s men scored two first-half goals to defeat Spurs in the North London derby on Sunday.

Hugo Lloris’ own goal and Martin Odegaard’s strike strengthened the Gunners’ bragging rights as they continue their charge for a possible English Premier League title win.

Although Tottenham improved in the second half, they were denied a goal, courtesy of good saves from Aaron Ramsdale as Arsenal ended their hosts’ run of eight North London derbies at home without defeat.

The victory moved Arsenal to 47 points from 18 matches, eight points ahead of second-placed Manchester City while Tottenham remain fifth with 33 points.

Earlier on Sunday, Chelsea finally got a victory after a long while, defeating Crystal Palace 1-0, courtesy of Kai Havertz’s goal while Newcastle survived conceding a penalty to beat Fulham 1-0.

At the Manchester Derby on Saturday, United defeated City 2-1 in a drastic comeback. Few minutes after Jack Grealish gave City the lead, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford netted two goals for United.
