British professional boxer, Daniel Dubois stunned viewers and fans when he knocked out Anthony Joshua in five thrilling rounds on Saturday.
Gatekeepers News reports that Joshua, who was looking forward to becoming a three-time world heavyweight champion, and Dubois who had his IBF heavyweight title on the line had a face-off at the Wembley Stadium in London.
At the end of the fight, Dubois successfully retained the IBF heavyweight world titlle as he defeated the former two-time world heavyweight champion.
In the first round, the 27 year old boxer dripped Joshua heavily with a monstrous right hand to the chin.
Dubois swarmed all over AJ in the second round as he was shipping severe shots.
The bell bell signaling the end of the round intervened, saving Joshua at the end of the third round.
A huge left hook had sent Joshua tottering into the ropes, giving Dubois the upper hand as he unleashed a ferocious onslaught and hammered the British-Nigerian down to the canvas in the third round.
Dubois’s crunching left hook sent Joshua stumbling with his footing faltered in Round 4.
Though Dubois continued to land pinpoint left hooks, Joshua showed remarkable grit to survive the round.
Dubois’s energy declined almost at the end of the fight and Joshua seized the opportunity, unleashing a powerful counterattack. However, Dubois’s pounding right hand caught Joshua, sending him tumbling to the canvas for a decisive knockout.”
The winner said at the end of the fight, “I’ve only got a few words to say: Are you not entertained?.”
“It’s been a long journey, I’m grateful to be in this position.”
