Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu emphasised the critical need for collective action to address the security challenges facing both the state and Nigeria as a whole.

Since taking office, the governor’s administration has implemented various initiatives to enhance security. These include restoring and increasing monthly allowances for security operatives in high-risk areas, procuring and distributing 100 vehicles to security outfits, and establishing a Community Guard Corps to support conventional security forces in rural areas.
Governor Aliyu expressed confidence that current federal and state measures will soon yield positive results in addressing security issues. He urged all Nigerians to actively support government efforts in tackling security and developmental challenges.
The governor paid respects to Nigeria’s founding fathers and fallen heroes, emphasising their role in the country’s independence and unity. He stressed the importance of maintaining Nigeria’s unity, describing it as non-negotiable.
Governor Aliyu stated, “All these were part of our modest efforts to redeem our pledge to guarantee the safety of lives and property of our people.” He added that the security measures implemented by his administration are aimed at fulfilling campaign promises and ensuring the well-being of Sokoto residents.
