Leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun East Senatorial District have endorsed Governor Dapo Abiodun as their consensus candidate for the 2027 senatorial election.
Gatekeepers News reports that the endorsement was announced during a stakeholders’ meeting of party leaders across the district, where they unanimously agreed to back the governor’s bid for the Senate seat.
The meeting brought together a wide range of APC stakeholders, including members of the Governor’s Advisory Council, serving and former lawmakers, local government chairmen, councillors, ward executives, as well as women and youth leaders from the district.
Speaking at the event, former Ogun East Senator, Lekan Mustapha, said the decision reflected confidence in Abiodun’s leadership and his ability to effectively represent the district at the National Assembly.
He also noted that party leaders had resolved to formally communicate the endorsement to the governor and mobilise support for his emergence as the APC candidate in the 2027 elections.
Other stakeholders present described the endorsement as unanimous, citing the Governor’s performance in office and his contributions to development across Ogun State as key reasons for their decision.
