‘You’ve Become Irrelevant In Nigerian Politics’— Felix Morka To Atiku

Felix Morka, spokesperson of All Progressives Congress (APC), has said that former vice president Atiku Abubakar is irrelevant in the country’s politics.

Gatekeepers News reports that Morka made the remark in response to former vice president Atiku Abubakar’s recent remarks on rising hunger in Nigeria.

Abubakar, the 2023 presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had on Monday likened Nigeria’s worsening poverty to France before the 1789 revolution, Russia before the 1917 Bolshevik uprising, and the Arab Spring.

The former vice president also linked the #EndSARS protests to widespread frustration, hunger, and government indifference.

He said, “The masses of Nigerians are progressively wallowing in misery and poverty under the watch of the Tinubu-led APC administration.”

Abubakar added that nearly two years into the Bola Tinubu presidency, there were still no manifest signs of relief. He stressed that reforms must have a human face and prioritise citizens’ welfare, warning that food insecurity remains a daily reality nationwide.

Reacting during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Morka said Abubakar’s comments stemmed from desperation adding that he has become politically irrelevant.

He said, “Nigerians are watching. I don’t think Nigerians are paying attention to what he says because they know why he says them.”

“He is desperate for power. He thinks that by vilifying governments and making false statements Nigerians will wake up tomorrow and make him president.”

“Nigerians have rejected him so many times. I don’t think Nigerians are even considering making Atiku president. He served Nigeria as he did. Today, he has become, quite frankly, irrelevant to any consideration of prosperity to the future of our country.”

The APC spokesperson added that if Abubakar contests again in 2027, Nigerians would reject him once more.
