Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a chieftain of All Progressives Congress in Osun State, has dismissed what he described as opposition “campaign of calumny” against the party and its governorship candidate, insisting it will not affect its chances in the August 15 election.
Gatekeepers News reports that speaking on Sunday in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, Oyintiloye said the growing allegations against the APC and its candidate are driven by fear of imminent electoral defeat.
He alleged that the opposition is deliberately spreading falsehoods to mislead voters ahead of the poll, adding that such tactics will not change the decision of the electorate.
“The opposition is jittery because of the electoral defeat that awaits them on Aug. 15, and that is why they are spreading misinformation on a daily basis,” he said.
He further stated that “no amount of lies, false allegations, or fabricated stories would sway the resolve of the people” who, according to him, are now more politically aware.
Oyintiloye expressed confidence that residents of Osun State are prepared to return the APC to power, noting that the party has strengthened its structure ahead of the election.
He also praised the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, describing him as a figure of integrity and competence who is well-positioned to lead the state.
According to him, the APC’s campaign organisation, including members led by Wole Oke, has further boosted its chances of victory.
Oyintiloye urged voters to remain focused and not be distracted by what he called attempts to derail the return of “progressive governance” in the state.
