Seyi Makinde has formally announced his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election.
Gatekeepers News reports that Makinde made the declaration on Thursday during a joint mega rally organised by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The Oyo Governor said it was “time to reset Nigeria,” as he unveiled what he described as the “Reset Nigeria Movement” aimed at rebuilding public trust, strengthening institutions, and improving governance across the country.
Speaking at the rally, Makinde said Nigeria could no longer continue with “politics as usual,” adding that his ambition was driven by the need to replicate the developmental strides recorded in Oyo State at the national level.
The Governor also outlined key areas his proposed administration would focus on, including economic growth, job creation, education, healthcare, infrastructure, power sector reforms, and security.
