Lagos lawmaker and Nollywood actor-turned-politician, Desmond Elliot, has lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly primaries.

Gatekeepers News reports that Desmond Elliot was defeated by Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, an aspirant backed by Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.

The primary election, held in Surulere on Wednesday, produced a landslide result, with Odunuga-Bakare polling 11,385 votes, while Elliot secured 270 votes across the wards in the constituency.

The outcome marks a major setback for Elliot, who has represented Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly for multiple terms and was seeking another return ticket under the APC.
