Lauren Bennett, the British singer best known for featuring on Party Rock Anthem and as a member of the girl group G.R.L., has died at the age of 37.
Gatekeepers News reports that her death was confirmed by her former bandmates in a heartfelt statement shared on social media, although no cause of death was disclosed.
In their tribute, G.R.L. described Bennett as a cherished friend whose warmth, laughter and kindness touched countless lives. The group said its members were devastated by the loss and would always treasure the memories they shared with her, adding that she would remain forever in their hearts.
Bennett rose to international fame in 2011 after providing vocals on LMFAO’s chart-topping dance anthem “Party Rock Anthem,” which became a global hit and topped music charts in several countries. Before joining G.R.L., she performed with the girl group Paradiso Girls and later collaborated with artists including Pitbull, will.i.am and CeeLo Green.
Following the death of fellow G.R.L. member Simone Battle in 2014, Bennett became an advocate for mental health awareness, with the group releasing the tribute single “Lighthouse.”
She continued making music in the years that followed while occasionally reuniting with G.R.L. for performances. Bennett is survived by her husband, dancer Kenny Wormald, and their daughter.
