Sokoto State APC-led Government has dissociated itself from the activities of a magician popularly known as Mai Shaho.
Gatekeepers News reports that this follows a viral video allegedly released by the magician, in which he was seen purportedly burying a live goat while claiming that a governorship candidate of a political party in Sokoto State would not be accepted by the electorate.
The Sokoto State Government wishes to categorically state that it has no connection whatsoever with the individual or any of his activities. The Government also does not support or endorse the activities of magicians, regardless of their political affiliation.
The Sokoto State APC-led Government further wishes to inform the public that it has no association with, or involvement in, the activities depicted in the video and will not tolerate acts that are contrary to the values, laws, and religious sensitivities of the people of Sokoto State.
“Sokoto State is predominantly Muslim, and its people firmly uphold the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), his Companions, and the legacy of Sheikh Usman bin Fodiyo. The State Government, therefore, will not condone any activity that is contrary to these cherished values.”
The Government consequently advises individuals engaging in activities that violate the true teachings of Islam to desist forthwith. It also urges the Sokoto State Hisbah Board to take appropriate action in accordance with the law.
