Borno APC Reps Primaries: 9 Winners Announced And One Election Declared Inconclusive

Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) committee responsible for conducting the party’s primary elections for the House of Representatives in Borno State, Prophet Jones Ode Erue, on Sunday announced winners in nine of the 10 federal constituencies.

Gatekeepers News reports that APC committee, in the same vein declared the primary election for Askira’-Uba/Hawul federal constituency inconclusive citing a petition written by one of the contestants

Prophet Erue made this known during a press conference held in Maiduguri following the outcome of the election on Saturday

Erue declared the House Representatives primary election across the 312 wards of the 27 local government areas of the state as “Peaceful and Orderly.”

He said candidates for the primary election emerged predominantly through affirmation and unanimous consensus arrangements, freely and amicably adopted by stakeholders and party delegates without rancour, dispute, or protest, including instances involving unopposed candidates.

Two of the nine announced candidates – incumbents Engr Bukar Talba and Mukhtar Betara Aliyu, of Marte/Monguno/Nganzai and Biu/ Bayo/ Kwaya/ Shani Federal Constituencies respectively, emerged unopposed.

Five emerged as consensus candidates – incumbents” Usman Zanna, Ahmed Usman Jaha and Engr Satomi Ahmed, Dr. Kaumi Umara Zulum, and Hajja. Fati Kakenna Alkali Moguno for Magumeri/ Kaga/ Gubio; Gwoza/ Chibok/ Damboa; Jere; Dikwa, Konduga/ Mafa and Mobbar / Guzamala/ Abadam/ Kukawa Federal Constituencies.

“Direct primaries were conducted in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council Federal Constituency where the incumbent Abdulkadir Rahis won; and Bama/ Ngala/ Kala-Balge, where Mustapha Abdullahi emerged the winner,” the Chairman said.

He added that ” At the Askira-Uba/Hawul Federal Constituency, complaints were received from one of the aspirants, Comrade Audu Garba Zali,” Erue said, stating,” Therefore, our Committee
shall wait for the report of the Appeals Committee before results are announced.”

He revealed that “The Askira-Uba/Hawul primary election is, therefore, inconclusive.”
