D’Tigress Beat Mali To Claim 3rd Consecutive Afrobasket Championship

D’Tigress have beaten Mali in the final of the 2021 women’s Afrobasket championship.

Gatekeepers News reports that Nigeria’s D’Tigress have defeated Mali to become the women’s Afrobasket champions for the third consecutive time.

The Otis Hughley girls outclassed the Malians on Sunday evening in Yaounde, Cameroon.

D’Tigress in the first three quarters scored 22-11, 13-9, 28-14 points respectively, while the opposition got the upper hand in the fourth quarter with 21-11 points.

The Nigerian senior women national basketball team, however, won 70-59 to claim the title.

D’Tigress after winning the 2017 trophy in Bamako have since remained unbeaten in every African competition.

While still in an undefeated mood, they also claimed their second title in Dakar, Senegal in 2019.
