African Action Congress (AAC) has selected Omoyele Sowore as its presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general election.

Gatekeepers News reports that the party also unveiled a new economic agenda focused on national security, sustainable growth and self-sufficiency.

Sowore, who previously contested the presidency in 2019 and 2023 on the AAC platform, said the party’s economic plan is designed to create an inclusive economy driven by local realities rather than “outdated economic models.”

According to details of the policy direction highlighted by the party, the AAC’s agenda centres on three strategic pillars;!national security, sustainable growth and self-sufficiency.

The party also outlined key focus areas captured in the acronym “SPICER-HEAT,” which covers security, power, infrastructure, corruption reforms, economy and jobs, restructuring, healthcare, education, agriculture, tourism and culture.

Sowore said the proposed economic framework would prioritise domestic production, food security and industrial development, while reducing Nigeria’s dependence on imports. He also criticised past administrations over what he described as failed promises and weak economic policies.

The AAC, founded by Sowore in 2018, is positioning itself as an alternative platform ahead of 2027 elections, with the activist insisting the party would maintain its ideological stance rather than join political coalitions that could dilute its principles.
