National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed the return of 104 Nigerian citizens from Algeria as part of the Assisted Voluntary Returns program, which is facilitated by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) in collaboration with the Federal Government.

Gatekeepers News reports that the returnees, according to a statement issued via NEMA’s official X handle, arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport cargo terminal in Lagos on Sunday, June 30, 2025, at approximately 1:50 PM. They travelled on an Air Algerie flight, with the flight number 70-BKT.

The group comprised 80 adult males, 14 adult females, two male children, five female children, and three infants. Upon their arrival, the returnees underwent biometric registration and documentation through the Nigerian Immigration Service.

NEMA also provided immediate humanitarian assistance, which included food, water, medical support, ambulance services, and luggage handling.

The agency emphasised that these collaborative efforts are intended to ensure a dignified and safe reintegration process for the returnees.
