Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu has begged the parliament to block the coalition deal that aims to oust him.
Gatekeepers News reports that PM Benjamin Netanyahu urged the right-wing members of parliament to block the coalition from taking office after eight parties reached an agreement to work together to form a new government that will put an end to Netanyahu’s 12 years power hold.
The opposition parties still need the Knesset (parliament) approval to unseat Netanyahu.
Gatekeepers News reports that the parliament is yet to fix a date to vote on the matter, but there are indications that the matter may be decided next week.
Netanyahu, in his first reaction since the coalition was announced, begged members of the Knesset “elected by votes from the right” to oppose the coalition.
In a post on Twitter, he criticised them as “left-wing” and “dangerous”. He has previously called the proposed new government the “fraud of the century”, saying it endangered the state and people of Israel.

Gatekeepers News had earlier reported that the Leader of centrist Yesh Atid party, Yair Lapid officially informed Israeli President, Reuven Rivlin on Wednesday that he has reached agreements with political allies to form a new coalition government.
“This government will work for all the citizens of Israel, those that voted for it and those that didn’t. It will do everything to unite Israeli society,” Lapid said on Twitter shortly before a Wednesday midnight deadline given to him.
Meanwhile, when the parliament vote in support of the newly formed government, Lapid will not become Prime Minister immediately.
Under a rotation arrangement, the head of the right-wing Yamina party, Naftali Bennett, would serve as Prime Minister first before handing over to Lapid in August 2023.
